1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BlinkCAD ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you should not use the Service.
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of BlinkCAD after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Service Description
BlinkCAD is a free, browser-based CAD file viewer. It allows you to upload DWG and DXF files and view them in your browser without installing any software. The service also includes basic measurement tools, drawing annotation tools, layer controls, and a file sharing feature.
BlinkCAD is currently in beta. While we strive for accuracy, the viewer may not render all CAD elements with 100% fidelity compared to professional CAD software like AutoCAD. Viewing accuracy is approximately 85–90% for most files. The service is intended for review, reference, and sharing purposes — not as a replacement for professional CAD editing tools.
The service is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future, but core viewing and sharing functionality will remain accessible.
3. User Conduct
You agree to use BlinkCAD only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Upload files containing malware, viruses, or any malicious code
- Use the service to violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Upload files that you do not have the right to view or share
- Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the service or its servers
- Use automated tools to mass-upload files or scrape data from the service
4. File Handling
When you upload a file to BlinkCAD, it is sent to our secure cloud storage (AWS S3) for processing. The file is converted into an internal format optimized for browser-based rendering. Your original uploaded file is automatically deleted from our storage within 24 hours.
The converted rendering data is retained on our servers for caching purposes and to support the sharing feature. This processed data is not your original CAD file — it is a converted representation used solely for display in the viewer.
If you use the Share feature, the processed rendering data remains accessible via the share link. You can request deletion of shared data by contacting us at [email protected].
Your Files, Your Rights
You retain all ownership and intellectual property rights over any files you upload. BlinkCAD does not claim any rights over your files or designs. We do not view, analyze, sell, or share your files with any third party. The temporary processing and storage described above is solely to provide you with the viewing and sharing service.
5. Intellectual Property
The BlinkCAD platform, including its interface, design, code, and branding, is the property of BlinkCAD and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You retain full ownership of all CAD files, drawings, and data you upload. By uploading content, you grant BlinkCAD a limited, temporary license solely to process, convert, and render the content for the purpose of providing the viewing and sharing service. This license terminates when the data is deleted from our servers.
6. Accuracy Disclaimer
BlinkCAD is currently in beta and provides approximately 85–90% rendering accuracy compared to professional CAD tools like AutoCAD. Some complex drawing elements, custom fonts, or advanced entity types may not render perfectly.
The service is designed for quick review, reference, measurement, and sharing of CAD drawings. It is not intended to replace professional CAD software for precision engineering, construction, or manufacturing purposes.
Not for Critical Measurements
While BlinkCAD includes measurement tools for distance, angle, and area, these measurements are based on the rendered drawing and may not be 100% accurate for all files. For critical engineering or construction measurements, always verify using your original CAD software. BlinkCAD is not liable for any decisions made based on measurements taken using the service.
7. Limitation of Liability
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
BlinkCAD is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that rendered drawings will be 100% accurate.
In no event shall BlinkCAD, its creators, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, resulting from your use of or inability to use the service. This includes, but is not limited to, any errors in rendering, measurement inaccuracies, or data loss.
8. Termination & Changes
We may suspend or terminate access to BlinkCAD at any time, without prior notice, for any reason including violation of these terms.
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes, but are not obligated to do so.
All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including intellectual property provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
